	* Makefile.tpl: New file.
	* Makefile.in: Generate from Makefile.tpl with 'autogen Makefile.def'.
	* contrib/gcc_update: Note that Makefile.in is a generated file.

	* configure.in: Minor rearrangement.  Simplify tests.
