Fedora provides a rpm package for libgit2 -

-To build RPM packages for Fedora, follow these steps:
- cp packaging/rpm/libgit2.spec ~/rpmbuild/SPECS
- cd ~/rpmbuild/SOURCES
- wget https://github.com/downloads/libgit2/libgit2/libgit2-0.16.0.tar.gz
- cd ~/rpmbuild/SPECS
